Officials for the Detroit Public Schools say 43, students attended the first day of school Tuesday, out of 79, enrolled.
The President will outline a jobs agenda to Congress on Thursday. The city of Detroit has again put a damper on plans to keep baseball at the site of the former Tiger Stadium. But the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation quashed the proposal. For years, those industries fought with the city and amongst themselves over who was responsible for the clean-up.
Federal prosecutors in Detroit have charged another 28 people in three alleged Medicare fraud schemes.
